About Meath Partnership

What We Do

We are a county-wide community organisation responsible for the design and implementation of local, rural and community development programmes in Meath. We focus on building the capacity of communities through the delivery of a range of services and initiatives tackling persistent incidence of exclusion and disadvantage playing a strategic role in the economic development of the County. We are a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status. All of our activities are guided by a bottom-up approach directly responding to the needs of our target groups, customers and local partners.

Where We Work

With a county-wide remit, all our services and programmes are available to residents and organisations living and working in Meath. Whilst our head office is located in Kells, we operate an open door policy and are available to reach into any community within the County. In partnership with community organisations, we have a regular outreach presence in Navan, East Meath, Summerhill and Moynalty. This year, we intend to create a series of drop-in facilities targeting particular areas of the County, where access to services and supports is under-developed.

Who We Are

Established in 1996 as Meath LEADER, Meath Partnership emerged from the National Cohesion Process ten years later as the transformed entity

responsible for the delivery of the LEADER Programme and a number of other key national programmes and schemes for the benefit of those living and working in Meath.  With a Board of 19 Directors comprising key statutory service providers, community representatives and members of the local business, farming and trade union sector, the Board's strength lies in its diversity with a strong blend of skills, talent, experience and insight present. The altruistic motivation of the Board in the service of local communities ensures that decisions are made on the basis of practicality  and in the spirit of servicing the people of the county to best effect.

Integrity is a core value for us, in terms of being accountable for what we do and transparent in how we do it, with strong governance for those who entrust their funds to our stewardship. Meath Partnership is a company limited by guarantee. The Company’s Constitution is our founding governance document and provides that the business and affairs of the Company shall be managed by the Board of Directors.
