€1.25 Million Renaissance Village Enhancement Initiative Gets Underway

 

The Renaissance Village Enhancement Initiative introduced by Meath Partnership has attracted applications from no less than twenty-eight Meath villages.  The outcome of this exciting competition has resulted in the emergence of ten winning villages following the evaluation of applications by Meath Partnership.

 

Announcing the lucky winners Meath Partnership Chairman, Gerard Weldon, said village communities could be proud of the quality of application made by each and every village.  Village Planning specialists, Nicholas de Jong Associates, have this week commenced work with the successful villages, this will involve public consultation and the nomination of community members to a Renaissance Working Group in each village. 

 

Mr Weldon stated that a total investment of €1.25m has the capacity to make a real difference to the quality of life enjoyed by village residents.  Time and again it has been proven that this aspect of development is critical in attracting industry and enterprise to County Meath.  He complimented village communities for their hard work to date and their obvious intentions to fully capitalise on this unique opportunity to reshape and introduce new facilities and amenities where required.
