Local and Community Development Programme

This programme seeks to address disadvantage and to provide opportunities in this context for individuals and groups in society whose quality of life and economic circumstances can be improved. This programme can engage directly with State Agencies and Departments in seeking to improve the quality of support provided and the accessibility of these supports to the individual.

The Four Goals for the LCDP are:

1. Promote awareness, knowledge and uptake of a wide range of statutory, voluntary and community services.
2. Increase access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural activities and resources.
3. Increase peoples work readiness and employment prospects.
4. Promote active engagement with policy, practice and decision making processes on matters affecting local communities.
