Transform your Farming Future
Carving out a successful living from the agricultural industry is becoming more and more diffcult in recent times. In order to address sustainability, some farmers must investigate alternative options to generate an income.
Some examples include:
-
Provide on farm tourism accommodation
-
Eco-tourism activities utilising the natural resources often founds on farm
-
Open farms of Activity centres
-
Recreational facilities for community uses
-
Craft workshops or studios
We have recently launched a new mentoring programme to assist farmers and farm family members to explore farm diversification options in a practical and pragmatic way with the assistance, free of charge, of an experienced agri-diversification advisor. As we know Farm Diversification is a process with a number of key steps, and working with Allen McAdam we are here to help along the way:
- On-site audit to determine existing situation, future needs, skills and resources available
- Stress testing of proposals and options
- Business Plan development and training
- Step by step support through the LEADER application process
- On going mentoring, advice and networking opportunities
- LEADER grant aid of up to 50%
