Invitation to Tender: LEADER 2015 – 2020 – Supporting Rural Youth: Profile and Best Practice

Qualified consultant(s) are sought for the production of a comprehensive, well-researched strategy for engaging with and supporting rural youth within the framework of the LEADER Programme 2015 2020.

Meath Partnership, acting on behalf of the Meath Local Community Development Committee, is seeking quotations/tenders from suitably qualified specialists/consultants to undertake, complete and develop a comprehensive, well-researched strategy for engaging with and supporting rural youth within the framework of the LEADER Programme, to be used in the formulation of the Local Development Strategy for the LEADER Programme 2015 - 2020.

The scope of this request for tender will cover the following subjects:

  • Profile of Rural Youth: present a short and concise socio-economic profile of rural youth in county Meath identifying the key issues experienced by young people from a social, economic, cultural and civic engagement perspective.
  • Analyse the key services / programmes operational in county Meath (relevant to LEADER) targeted towards rural youth and conduct a gap analysis
  • Research and identify a number of good practice projects, approaches and initiatives  across Ireland and Europe that could be used to inform the development of LDS for County Meath
  • Based on the above, prepare a series of recommendations to support rural youth within the framework of the LEADER Programme 2015 2020 in county Meath.

Tenders should note the scope of work for this project does not consist solely of the provision of a collation of studies/documents already available. The specialist/consultant should instead use these existing documents to inform the finalised strategy, providing a targeted report advising how LEADER funding could be best utilised within the county to support rural youth. 

Project Budget

No specialist/consultant making a submission will be remunerated for any costs incurred in preparing a submission. The total budget for the project is €3,000 including VAT, this will include all cost associated with the completion of the strategy.

Responses to all queries received regarding this tender will be made available to all interested parties via email. One (1) soft copy must be submitted via post email to info@meathpartnership.ie no later than 12pm Tuesday, 10th November 2015. Please note that submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.
