Our Men’s Shed members meet President Michael D. Higgins

On Saturday the 4th October the Meath Men’s Shed members took to the road and congregated at the Helix in Dublin to meet and mingle with Shedders from all across Ireland and further afield. They were participating in the Irish Men’s Shed Association conference with Men’s Shed members from as far away as Australia attending. An informative and enjoyable day was had by all with the highlight being when President Michael D Higgins stopped at the Meath Partnership stand to admire the men’s handiwork of carefully constructed and restored artefacts while chatting with those present.

The Men's Shed provides a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place for men to come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities. The project is designed to specifically meet male interests and needs and the programme of activities are directed by the Men’s Shed members. Currently Meath Partnership supports six Men’s Sheds throughout the County, in Moynalty, Summerhill, Navan, Athboy, Broomfield and Dunshaughlin. If you would like more information, or to find out when and where the Men’s Sheds meet, please contact Kay on 046 9280 790.
