Current European Projects 

 

Meath Partnership is currently working with over 60 organisations across Europe in 14 new and existing projects funded under the Erasmus+ (2014-2020) and by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme of the European Unio. The aim of these projects is to increase the learning opportunities and educational options for youth and adult learners in County Meath. Throughout 2017 and 2018, these projects will be completed and a series of innovative and new educational resources, that can be accessed and used free of charge, will be made available to service providers, trainers and youth and adult learners within the county.

INTEGR8 - Harnessing the Potential of Migrant Women as Integration Experts

 

Immigration is not a new phenomenon for Europe and migrant communities have always made a major contribution to the economic development of the Union and to the cultural diversity which characterizes European society today. If EU Member States are to fully harness the potential of this cultural diversity the integration of migrant and host communities needs to be systemic. The aim of the project “Harnessing the potential of migrant women as integration experts”(INTEGR8) is to develop a bespoke accredited ‘Migrant Integration Expert’ curriculum that is specifically addressed to migrant women.

New-D

 

The New-D project aims to develop a new approach to education for disadvantaged youth.  The project  partners believe that by developing and implementing a new didactical approach to second-chance education and school completion initiatives, not only will the quality of VET be improved across Europe, but there will be significant reductions in the numbers of young people dropping out of formal education.

INCUB Training aims to create an e-learning platform which will house Open Educational Resource (OER) for budding and existing entrepreneurs. These will be used to improve training and professional capacities, notably in areas of strategic development, organizational management and internationalization.

The ECVET AGENT project recognises the potential of entrepreneurship to offer sustainable employment opportunities for Roma jobseekers across Europe. By developing a new and practical VET curriculum in the area of agriculture, EVCET AGENT will build upon the existing skills and strengths of this target group offering pathways towards the creation of new micro-enterprises.

CRE8IVE


The aim of the CRE8IVE project is to support innovation in education for youth-at-risk by supporting the CPD of youth workers and education staff working in this area.  To achieve this, the CRE8IVE project team will develop and implement a suite of accredited Train-the-Trainer materials that introduce youth workers and educators to the use of digital media, storytelling, drama and music for the development of key competences.

Attract-VET

 

The ATTRACT-VET project aims to develop a new, innovative and multidisciplinary approach in order to empower VET providers across Europe to use the existing European transparency tools.  It is envisaged that by the end of this project, European VET providers and tutors will be better equipped and informed to use these transparency tools for qualification (EQF), for attributing credits to VET learners (ECVET) and for quality assurance standards in the provision of VET (EQAVET).

Innovation Ecosystems for VET

 

This project aims to simultaneously improve the contribution of VET to innovation in Member States while increasing the incidence of innovation in VET. The objective of the project is to define and pilot an innovation ecosystem for VET based on an agreed set of common elements and principles that can be applied as a framework for innovation in Member States. The function of this ecosystem should be to support the identification, testing, development and assessment of new innovative approaches in the VET sphere which have mainstreaming potential.

Youth Counselling Against Radicalisation

 

The 'YCARE' project proposes a holistic approach to help professionals who work directly with young people (from 12 to 21 years) to identify signs of a possible radicalisation and thus be able to implement different prevention measures to avoid violent extremist behaviour.

ReEntry - Supports for Refugee Entrepreneurs to Create Normality in a Difficult Surrounding

 

The aim of this project is to undertake research to identify suitable best practice examples from across Europe that will help to support migrants into self-employment. When identifyind and reviewed, these best practices will be presented through an online observatory where they cam be accessed and used by adult education and VET staff working directly with migrants.

BRAMIR - Beyond Retirement - A Migrants Integration Resource

 

The BRAMIR Project proposes a mutually beneficial arrangement affording the seniors target group an opportunity to remain active contributors to society while addressing the growing migrant integration problem.  The BRAMIR project addresses two certainties for all EU Member States, namely; the ageing of the population and an increasing dependence on immigration as a potential talent pool to sustain the civic, social, political and economic fabric of the EU. While there is considerable variance with regard the speed and immediacy of these changes within and between Member States, they are coming and will impact all countries in the not too distant future.  Therefore, the project proposes the development and implementation of a multi-layered andragogic framework designed for a seniors target group comprising older workers approaching retirement and recent retirees to support them to become migrant integration resources to newly arrived migrants.

COMMIX - Empowering Literacy in Adolescents through Creative Engagement with Comics

 

This project aims to address low achievement in basic skills through more effective teaching methods and develop basic and transversal skills by using innovative methods in order to provide innovative pedagogical methods, best practice guidelines, and implementation strategies towards scalable, systemic and sustainable use of ICT and comics for student engagement.  In addition, the project aims to convince all stakeholders that innovative use of ICT-based educational practices and interactive comics can play a significant role in promoting student engagement, and reading skills; especially in the case of disengaged and/or marginalized learners and to inspire, guide, and facilitate the creation of comics reading and creation cultures and communities among pre-teens and teenagers through the use of Web 2.0 technologies and other forms of digital/social reading, digital storytelling, and “book-talking.” Overall, with the resources to be developed as part of the project aim to describe, implement and disseminate multiple ways in which technology and comics can engage adolescents with math, science, and literacies, and digital story telling.

ACUMEN - Career Management Skills - A New 'Literacy'​ for Sustainable Employment

 

This project aims to revolutionise career guidance for adults.  The ACUMEN project team are of the opinion that traditional career guidance which is often targeted at school-students in classrooms is not fit-for-purpose for application to adult learners who are already active or have been active in the labour market.  As such the team aims to provide a wide range of educational materials that are designed and developed with the latest digital technologies and platforms in mind and which promote 'career management' as a new literacy for adults, rather than relying on the practices of career guidance.

SHADOWS - Supporting Graduate Entrepreneurship in the Creative Sector

 

The SHADOWS project has a number of key objectives but primarily the project is focused on increasing the labour market relevance of VET by providing bespoke pedagogic resources that will improve the attainment levels of high-level basic and transversal competences. The cultural and creative industry sector has been singled out for its growth potential as Europe recovers from the depths of the recent economic crisis. Developing bespoke curriculum resources that specifically address potential for graduate entrepreneurs in this important sector and supporting new entrepreneurs in a robust mentoring framework represents a significant connection between VET provision and micro-enterprise owners and an increased responsiveness within VET provision to market demands.

GET-UP - Green Entrepreneurship Training - Underpinning Prosperity

 

GET-UP will develop the first bespoke green entrepreneurship curriculum in partner countries. In doing so, the project responds to the significant development potential within the sector and helps to ensure the relevance of VET provision to the evolving marketplace and the further strengthening of key entrepreneurial competences in VET curricula.

Jobs for Work 4.0 - The Future of Employment

 

The overall objective of our project is to raise awareness about recent trends and developments in technology which may make jobs in certain sectors less secure in the future; such as the automation of practices in transportation, logistics, production and office administration which may lead to individuals employed in these sectors being susceptible to their jobs being automated in the future. The project aims to inform guidance professionals and individuals in vulnerable occupations about the challenges they will face, to help them to understand the pace at which automation and the “Internet of Things” will lead to changes and also to support them in identifying how entirely new job families will emerge while others will become obsolete.  This project also aims to support these professionals in planning suitable qualification pathways to address the demands of the current and future labour market.
